The Lone Gypsy’s Transition

We’re in the process of rebranding!! It’s been a long time coming. I, Keira, started “The Lone Gypsy” in 2009 when I came back from a long roadtrip to New York from Los Angeles and was ready to embark on a coastal roadtrip from Los Angeles to Canada by myself.

It’s been 8 eventful years since starting The Lone Gypsy. The travel blog was originally more for friends and family to learn about how I find travel deals online. It was always an off and on side project. Since starting the blog, I saw so much more of this beautiful planet and met so many special people who have changed my life for the better. Somehow by looking around me, I was reminded of looking up. It’s finally time to say goodbye to my old brand and to share my stories in a way that feels more me now.

The Lone Gypsy is now officially Gaianaut. I want this new name to reflect who I am now as well as my eco and budget friendly travel insights. I also hope to reach a greater audience, as I think everyone deserves a chance to be see Earth through the eyes of an explorer and not a mere tourist.

This rebranding is for everyone who wanted to be an astronaut as a child. I’ll present you with ways to explore this beautiful planet first, while helping to make it a better place for all so that we may someday explore space not for escape but for discovery. For the original readers of The Lone Gypsy, please know that this will still primarily be a source for traveling on a budget. There won’t be any big differences in content. However, I’ll be posting lots of eco-friendly ways to travel as well as tips on how to travel with a conscious heart.

I hope to inspire you and help you see that it doesn’t have to cost a lot to learn more about this rock orbiting the sun and the people that live on it! I thank you for your patience through this transition! Please feel free to read the About page where I explain the origins of the name in greater detail, and as always, please share with me any travel topics you’d like to see more of in the comments!

Happy Exploring!
